Whole House Water Filtration – Softening – PFOA -PFOS – Iron – Manganese – Shrewsbury MA

After testing and careful analysis, TPW designed this softening and filtration filter system for a young family in Shrewsbury MA. Water quality issues were wide ranging from discoloration, to 8 grain hardness, to manganese & iron and strong odors from the chlorine disinfectant. Trace amounts of PFAS chemicals were also a concern as these pollutants are extremely dangerous to ingest, even in parts per trillion. Water first enters through a 90 micron, permanent stainless screen filter followed by a 4.5 x 20″ carbon impregnated sediment filter. (these are not visible in this photo) Water then enters a 1.5 cube, cation resin, salt based softener. Following is an Enpress Pioneer, which is the only NSF Standard 53 rated whole house filter available. The NSF 53 rating covers lead @ 99.7% removal, PFOA PFOS @ 98.6%, chlorine and chloramines @ 99% as well as removing/reducing a myriad of other toxic impurities. The homeowners also wanted both chlorides and fluoride removed so a reverse osmosis filter was added for drinking/cooking water. A re-mineralizer – pH neutralizer was added as a 5th cartridge in the RO unit on the left. The family was totally happy with the transformation of their water into virtual spring water quality.
